Guillermo del Toro to film The Hobbit 1 and 2
Guillermo del Toro, director of the Oscar award winning Mexican film Pan’s Labyrinth, is directing the Hobbit, which will come out in two sets. The first instalment will be released next 2010 whilst the second will be released the following year - at least according to iMDB (which can at times, not be all that accurate).
Peter Jackson (director of the LotR trilogy) and Fran Walsh are excecutive producers of the two films which will also be set in New Zealand.
I’ve seen Pan’s Labyrinth and it was pretty damn wicked, although the ‘monster’ was slightly laughable when he used his hands as eyes. I believe this will be a thoroughly marvellous film as well, because del Toro is a brilliant master when it comes to films.
I got my information here as I’ve been practising my Spanish (it’s in a state of disgrace at the moment) so it would be best to Google it for more information. ![]()
Tsukamoto Takashi - Most Recent Crushable
I absolutely love this man.
I first saw him in Midnight Sun (JMovie, not Stephenie Meyer’s forthcoming book). It’s a sad, depressing film where the lead female role dies in the end, so for those not wanting a good cry - stay far, far away. He’s friends with Oguri Shun who plays Sano, the lead role in the Japanese drama Hanazakari no Kimitachi e, Ikemen Paradise. He’s also in the Detective Conan film (lead role, yet again) but I’ve never seen it yet.
I think the Japanese version’s better, funnier even. And the boys in the programme are extremely divine! There’s an earlier release of the Taiwanese version (2006) and sticks more closely to the manga and is slightly funny but I still prefer the Japanese version. In my opinion.
Anyway. For more of Tsukamoto, (who is married with child which is a crying shame) visit his site.
